Most people who hear "braces" think of a mouth full of metal. But braces have evolved over the years, offering several options to patients. Treatments For All Ages

Why Choose Self-Ligating Braces

No Elastics

Self-ligating braces don't use elastics, which means fewer appointments and less friction on the tooth. That means more comfort because there is less pressure on the tooth and fewer adjustments.

More Options

Self-ligating braces can be the traditional metal braces, or you can choose ceramic or clear braces. The ceramic and clear braces blend better with the teeth, so you can have more confidence in your smile during treatment.

Less Pressure

Self-ligating braces use a clip to hold the archwire in place, rather than elastics. The specialized clip doesn't need as many adjustments as traditional braces with elastics, so you'll have less discomfort during treatment.

Good for All Ages

These braces work well for both adults and children. They provide efficient treatment for both age groups. The clear and ceramic braces are great options for adults who may feel self-conscious about having braces.

Braces FAQ

How long will I need to wear my braces?
The length of treatment depends on the severity of the dental issues. On average, most patients wear their braces from 12-24 months. During your consultation, Dr. Zombek and his team will provide an estimate of how long your specific treatment may take.
Do braces hurt?
Because braces use pressure to move the teeth into proper position, patients may experience some slight discomfort after braces are tightened during a regular checkup. But orthodontic treatment has come a long way in the last several years, and newer options are made to alleviate some of the discomfort patients felt in the past. Self-ligating braces, for example, don't use elastics and require fewer trips to the office for tightening, which means less pressure and discomfort.
Can I choose the color of my rubber bands?
Can I still get braces if I'm missing teeth?
Absolutely! Braces can be used to alleviate or eliminate gaps between teeth and make the other teeth less crowded.

Gaps between teeth can lead to food being trapped there, as well as damage to the gums, particularly in the gap. Both can lead to tooth decay, gum disease and jaw pain further down the road. Correcting large gaps left by missing teeth with braces can improve your overall dental health.
Am I too old for braces?
Many adults today are getting braces, whether it's to improve their smiles or to put a halt to dental issues such as gum disease or pain in the jaw. About 20% of our patients here at Zombek Orthodontics are adults.

Today's braces offer more options with lower profiles, so you don't have to feel self-conscious about improving your dental health. We offer ceramic and clear braces, which are harder to see than standard metal braces.  Contact us at Zombek Orthodontics and let us introduce you to all your options.
